Relaxing, with my feet in the sand.
One of the perks of living in Southern California is being able to feel like you’re on a real vacation just by driving an hour or two out of town. I took a short trip to San Diego with my family last week to enjoy what was left of my nephew’s summer break.
As a family, we’ve been through some rough times this year. It only seemed right to end the summer together, and to celebrate in the spirit of love. Some of my favorite moments in San Diego were discovering sea life at the tidepools (something both of my parents have never experienced), swimming in the hotel’s pool until we were kicked out, and tasting the best of San Diego (Spike Africa’s and Phil’s BBQ).
A neat kaleidoscope for appreciating flowers in a unique way.

Inviting blooms displayed on a storefront in the Gaslamp District.
Taking a moment to capture this spectacular view.
