Layered With Love.

We were invited to an art show held a few weeks ago.  Having come home straight from work that night,  I was exhausted, but was looking forward to layering (FINALLY!) Its been a sweltering summer, so I basically jump at  any chance to layer.

It isn’t normal for us to do anything eventful during the week, so we decided to enjoy our midweek outing and  turn it into a date night. After the show, we took a walk to enjoy the brisk evening air and held hands under our high top table during dinner.

Remixing Pieces.

One of the reasons Fall is so enjoyable for me is having fun remixing pieces in  my closet– things that I added to my wardrobe in the summertime, but when layered can very easily transition into the cooler Autumn months. It’s still hot in Southern California, but with Halloween just a week and a few days away {decorations are up, pumpkins are everywhere, and everyone is buzzing about their Halloween plans}  it’s definitely feeling more like my favorite time of the year.

What are you plans this Halloween?

Self Rediscovery.

These past few months have been intense— an emotional roller coaster filled with high highs, low lows and everything in between. And in the last few weeks, I’ve been feeding my soul by allowing my creativity to shine brighter than ever before. I began blogging again, baking again, playing with makeup again, which lead to laughing and smiling and having fun again…..and ultimately rediscovering who I am.

In this moment of rediscovering myself, I’ve rediscovered a few pieces in my closet. I played around with them today and came up with this look thats truly me: a little nerdy, a little girly, bright, colorful and fun.

With the day to day grind of life, it’s easy to get lost. While it may not always come at the best time, it’s always the best thing to stop what you’re doing, listen to your heart and remember who you are.

In recent years my make-up collection has grown so much that I often have trouble deciding what to use. But my go-to look of choice has to be one that’s barely there and almost Naked—like I didn’t just spend 15-20 minutes putting my face together. I love to mix a variety of nudes, neutral browns and soft pinks on my eyes, lips and face to create that effect. These are some products I can’t wait to add to my growing collection of barely there nudes.

EYES  Urban Decay- Naked Basics (Sephora)

LIPS MAC-Lady Danger (MAC Cosmetics)

FACE Dior/ Diorskin – Nude Tan Paradise Glow (Sephora)

NAILS Topshop – Nice ‘n Neutral (Topshop)

When I was in college, my roommates and I decided we could rise above the addiction we all had to sappy dramatic shows like One Tree Hill, and the infamous reality shows like Jersey Shore. So we opted not to pay for any cable tv. Needless to say, we found other ways to feed our addiction-DVD’s of seasons of novelty comedies ( Friends, Golden Girls, and Saved By the Bell). We’d all curl up on the couch with our text books on our laps pretending to study between episodes…nothing could stop us from finding out what was next for Zach Morris and Kelly Kapowski.

After moving in together, Handsome and I decided to attempt the same thing. Enter: Netflix and Hulu! I’ve been Scandal-ized, and now hooked on Grey’s Anatomy. Today after yet another overnight,  I’m glued to my tv watching quite possibly my 10th episode of Grey’s for the day….and I’m love every freaking minute.

I managed to escape for a bit of fresh air. Just enough time for a little photo shoot.
