Manolo Blahnik // Dune London
Last week, after setting my eyes on these babies, I could not stop thinking about them. I literally have had daydreams about prancing around in them this summer. Other than my wedding shoes, I’ve never spent more than $200 on pair of shoes and I don’t ever intend to (the Manolo Blahnik version retails for $745). So, when I came across these Dune London sandals for $69 I had to share them with you. They have a remarkably uncanny similarity, not just in color, but the silhouette is almost identical. I’m so in love.

When shopping for the upcoming season, I spend a lot of time browsing the internet. It might sound silly, but it’s almost like doing research — I study latest trends, read fashion blogs, and peruse all my favorite stores’ websites to create a mental wish list with two categories: things I need for the season and things that I want to have.
I shop online, but I’m the type of person who needs to try things on. I like to touch and feel everything in order to have a better understanding of how things will fit on my body. So, with my mental wish list in mind, as I find myself at different stores, I will try things on before making my purchase.
I know it sounds like a lot of work, but I’m short, curvy and busty… I HAVE to try things on.
Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share my list with you, as I create them. So here are a few things from ZARA that I’ll be looking out for this season.
- this sexy little thing to wear with smokey eyes for date night
- a mustard colored hat
- NEED and WANT this
- these perfectly purple hued shoes for a pop of color
- a lux velvet kimono to wear with everything
- a very boho statement necklace
- love the chain detail of this casual and chic shopper
- a great work shoe for a girl on the go, like me!
- this top with a modern take on the prudish turtleneck

This weekend was jam packed with home improvement projects. Since my moving out, my parents have finally decided to repurpose my old room into a guest room. Hubby and I happily helped out with the painting, my niece and nephew helped too! It was hard work, but fun to get down and dirty with family. We also decided to do a little DIY bathroom project in our own home. After being painted on all weekend and dressing in old raggedy clothes, I felt the need to get glam today.
Ps. Please don’t mind the hint of paint still lingering in my hair…oops!

I love to wear black. It’s classic, it’s slimming, it’s sexy. It just makes me feel confident. Since I sport the all black look often, one way I spruce up the monotony of one color is by playing with textures. This thrifted fuzzy sweater has been tucked away, deep in my closet for far too long. It’s finally come out to play and definitely is the star of the show. But shhh…don’t tell Phineas!
Carrie Bradshaw was my Cinderella–by no means was she perfect, but she found a man who loved her anyway! As a girl in my teens and twenties, I’d fantasize about living her glamorous life. You can say, I wanted to literally live in her shoes.
And in the last few months of planning my wedding, I still hadn’t found a pair of shoes worthy to walk me down the aisle. But when I heard SJP (who by the way, is my Ultimate style icon) launched her line of shoes at Nordstrom, I had to check them out. Perfect in every way, the vintage inspired T-strapped pumps were elegant and classic. I knew they were THE shoes. And fitting since, they are called the Carrie. It only made sense to have her with me as I walked down the aisle.
The best part about these shoes is being able to wear them on any given day. And when I do wear them, I look down at my feet, smile and I’m reminded of how these shoes Carrie’d me toward my very own Mr. Big on our wedding day.

I live in
sunny extremely HOT Southern California. Last week’s heat wave had me sweating in places I didn’t even know could sweat. But this week it’s cooled down quite a bit around here and I’m grateful for it. Today is the first official day of Fall and I am so excited to let my hair down–a change I welcome, after throwing my hair up in messy buns and ponytails all last week.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am for the new season.
Here’s to letting our hair down more often (for the next few months, at least)!
The grass is always greener. While I try to be conscious of the present and enjoy each day as it comes, I’m always looking forward and excited for what lies ahead. I can’t help it. Summer is quickly coming to and end..so it’s only natural that I’d be FALL-ing in love. Right now, I’m totally in lust with these lace up boots.
